Despite its status as a private university, WilmU features tuition rates that are lower than both the University of Delaware and Delaware State University for its graduate students. Programs at Wilmington University are top-ranked for their embrace of instructional technology, and this includes the graduate degree in clinical mental health counseling. This program is also accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs, which stands out as the leading academic body overseeing mental health counseling education in the United States. Thanks to its large student body size and affordable tuition rates, WilmU’s psychology programs are among the largest and best known anywhere in the state. These programs are also competitive throughout the wider Philadelphia metro area.

Master of Science, Clinical Mental Health Counseling

The mental health counseling program at Wilmington University is extensive and rigorous, with a 44-credit core that includes coursework in counseling theory, human development, addiction counseling, diverse populations, pathology, and several other areas. This core is designed to teach students the basics of mental health counseling in a wide array of situations, from substance abuse to family abuse and career planning.
